I’m Martin Fouilleul, an independent researcher and programmer. My current work centers around interactive and composable programming environments, and the alternative software execution and distribution models underlying them. I have a broad range of areas of interest, including:

  • Live programming systems.
  • Art and Computing intersections.
  • Temporal models for human-machine interactions.
  • Audio synthesis and signal processing.
  • Graphics and GPU programming.
  • Hiking, reading, cooking, practicing aikido, and learning to sail.

Previously I worked at Ircam, researching temporal programming tools for performing arts. Before that, I was a sound engineer and the head of Sweet Spot, an audio engineering studio I co-founded.

Here you’ll find technical writeups, recreational demos, project updates, jam prototypes, research notes, descriptions of tools I made, etc.: a glimpse of these heterogeneous tasks to which I dedicate my time.

You can support my work by donating via Github Sponsors. I’m also available for contract work with research teams and artists. Feel free to reach out!
